SOYA CHUNKS CUTLET

Soya chunks is a very rich source of protein. We do not love them much, but when it comes to cutlet it is  a favourite. It is a very yummy & easy to make snack. It is great for small parties & get together.


Ingredients
  1. Soya chunks - 1/2cup (washed & soaked)
  2. Potato - 1 (Boiled & Mashed)
  3. Onion chopped - 1 big
  4. Ginger garlic crushed - 1tsp
  5. Green chilly - 2 chopped
  6. Curry leaves
  7. Turmeric powder - 1tsp
  8. Chilly powder - 2tsp
  9. Coriander powder - 1tsp
  10. Garam masala - 1/2tsp
  11. Salt as needed
For Coating
  1. Egg - 1
  2. Bread crumbs

Method of Preparation:
  • Pressure cook soaked soya chunks for 1-2 whistles or till cooked . Shred it.
  • Heat oil in pan and saute onion till transclucent.
  • Add crushed ginger garlic and green chilly and saute.
  • Add turmeric powder,chilly powder,coriander powder & garam masala and saute till its raw smell goes off.
  • Add shredded soya to this and saute well.
  • Add mashed potatoes and adjust salt and curry leaves and combine well.Switch off the flame.
  • Heat oil in another pan for shallow frying.
  • Shape the prepared mixture as you desire and dip in egg & coat with bread crumbs.
  • Start frying by flipping sides.

Notes:
  • For veg version instead of egg dissolve 4 tbsp cornflour in 1/2 cup of water and make a slurry
  • Rava/ Semolina can be used instead of breadcrumbs... in veg version.
