ALOO PARATHA
Aloo Paratha a whole wheat flatbread stuffed with a spicy potato filling. It is an easy to make North Indian dish.You can have it anytime. It is difficult to classify Aloo paratha into a particular category as it can be eaten in breakfast, lunch or dinner. Aloo paratha is best enjoyed with raita, pickle and butter.
- Wheat flour - 2 cups
- salt-1 tsp
- water-for kneading
- Potatoes boiled- 3 medium size
- Green chillies finely chopped- 2
- Ginger - 1tsp(chopped)
- Onion (finely chopped)- 1 small
- cumin seeds- 1tsp
- red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
- turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Chaat masala - 1 tsp
- salt- to taste
- vegetable oil-for making the paratha
- Sieve flour add salt.add water little at a time.make a medium soft dough.cover with a wet cloth & keep it for 1/2 hour.
- For making the filling Add mashed potatoes,ginger, green chillies,onions & all the spices......mix well......
- Divide the dough in to balls of equal portions... Roll one ball at a time into small circles just like poori ....
- Now put a small quantity of filling over it,close it from all sides. Apply some flour on each side & roll it gently into paratha.
- Cook on tawa by applying 1 tsp oil each side,until light brown &serve hot
