ROYAL FALOODA

Falooda, is a very delicious & yummy cold dessert popular in the Indian subcontinent.
Traditionally it is made from mixing rose syrup, vermicelli, sweet basil seeds, pieces of jelly with milk, tutti frutti & dry fruits like badam, cashews, pista etc. often topped off with a scoop of ice cream.

Ingredients:
  1. Vermicelli - 1/2 cup
  2. Rooh Afza - 3 tbsp
  3. Subja seeds ( basil seeds) - 1 tsp
  4. Mixed fruits of choice (I used mango, Apple, Grapes)
  5. Vanilla Ice cream - 4-5 scoops
  6. Tutti frutti - 2-3 tbsp
  7. Cashew nuts chopped -2 tbsp
  8. Raisins - 2 tbsp

Method of Preparation:

  • Keep two tall falooda glasses in the fridge to chill....
  • Cook the vermicelli with a little milk and sugar to taste. Keep it aside to cool....
  • Soak the tukmaria seeds in 1/2 cup water and leave undisturbed for 10 minutes. During this time the small black seeds will swell up and look like small gelatinous balls with a black dot in the center.
  • Keep the ice cream out 10 minutes before assembling.
  • When you are ready to assemble your faloodas, take out the glasses from the refrigerator.
  • Add 1 Tbsp Rooh Afza into each glasses.
  • Top with a little vermicelli...
  • Add 1 tsp sabja/basil seeds to the glass.
  • Top this with 1 Tbsp mixed fruits and some crushed nuts.
  • Add 1 tbsp tutti frutti to this...
  • Add one scoop vanilla ice cream on top of the tutti frutti
  • Drizzle 1 tbsp Rooh Afza on the ice cream.
  • Add another teaspoon of Basil seeds to the glass.
  • Top with mixed fruits, and another scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • Sprinkle the nuts on top along with the left over fruits & tutti frutti....

*** Be careful as you fill the glass. Serve immediately once assembled , because as the ice cream melts and the layers settle down, the glass might start to overflow....
*** You can also add jelly to this.... If u are adding jelly then layer it just before adding the ice cream
